Our Diocese
A Lenten Message from Archbishop Henning
My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On Ash Wednesday, we will be reminded that we are dust. This grim truth is in fact good news because the same Lord that formed us from the dust has promised us renewal and rebirth through the gift of His beloved Son. May this season of Lent be a time of grace for you and for the whole Church. May we all remember the love of God and the Lord’s boundless mercy. May we turn from sin and renew our trust in the Lord. May we commit ourselves to be those who hear and do the Word of God.
Even as we give glory to our Loving God, we recall also the Lord’s command to love as we have been loved. On Ash Wednesday, our collections will be for the sake of Catholic Charities of Boston. Your contribution will support the many and varied ministries of Catholic Charities and bring hope and help to those in need. This is an excellent way to practice the Lord’s call to compassion and solidarity and I ask that we be as generous as possible.
